Child Care Benefit
To be eligible for the Child Care Benefit (CCB), families are required to register their details with the Department of Human Services. Eligibility is based on the combined income of both parents as well as other requirements.
Child Care Rebate
The Child Care Rebate is not income tested, which means most Australian families receive up to 50% reduction on their fees. The rebate is capped annually at $7,500 per child. To be eligible you must be working, studying or looking for work. Families have two options with regards to how they receive the rebate:
Rebate is deducted from your fortnightly fees by the service or is paid directly into your account from the Department of Human Services after your child care fees have been paid.
As of July 2015.
